Subagent Portal (resellers for resellers)
Me: Sub-agent/reseller for the resellers. Just curious when this might be able to be tested or if there’s a timeline. The attorney and compliance company the developed the Carrier of Record model, Jonathan Marashlian, and us are ready to go fully steam ahead for potential MSPs that don’t want to deal with the regulatory stuff.
Dan: Hey Michael, these are both internal initiatives that we have not placed a timeline on. I just checked and surprisingly neither of these are on our feature request portal. Would you mind adding these (youll get my vote!). This will help with our dev team so they know how to prioritize.

Hey Michael (and others) can you please add any other details of requirements?
Do you prefer to have branded resellers or agents? (if we can only do one or the other) etc
Also going to create a seperate feature request for tax engine integration. Did you have a specific vendor you prefer? -

Michael BarsonDan, I just added to the tax engine feature request.
If only one is possible then Branded Resellers. Subagent Reseller = SR
Requirements will likely need to be worked out a bit more:
-Cost difference pricing model. We would be able to set our rates to our SR - only the reseller directly associated with Viirtue can create new products and pricing
-SR will be able to see estimated commissions
-SR will have Reseller permissions to oversee their accounts
-Reseller (i.e. VoIP Doctors) will be able to see our domains as well as our SRs'
-Options on Taxes/Regulatory fees - Also affected EU billing
----- If a SR is registered as a 499 filer and is utilizing a compliance company then the SR can handle their own taxes and billing
----- If a SR is not registered as a 499 file and wants to be under a CoR (Carrier of Record) model the Reseller will handle billing and collect reg fees/taxes on behalf of their SR.
There might be more to come and anyone with suggestions or anything please add. -

Joshua DavidsonI personally would like to see something along the lines of User permissions where we could create Sub Agents that could sell our products and see commissions. Therefore we could enter into a channel partner program and that channel partner can go in, create their own quotes and sales and then we perform the install and support and they make residual commission.

John HansenWhat I've seen reselling VoIP previous to joining Viirtue is that the company builds a new front-end portal that uses API calls to the switch and back end systems to affect changes. So for example, the front end portal user (sub-reseller) would have everything from selling/provisioning new clients, to extension changes, updates, and even updating billing information. This would create flows with additions and deletions, but prevent sub-resellers from manually deleting inventory items, system users, or even entire domains (accidentally?). Granular permissions could even allow end-client access to the front end portal.
I'd expect someone would have this as a product already, and allow it to be layered on top of existing Netsapiens installs. I feel like we could see exponential growth if we could give a sub-reseller limited access, and let them do their thing, and just pay them a commission.
Obviously this is a heavy lift, and would require ongoing programming support. -

Dustin inge MergedAbility to give permissions to an Agent. That might be reselling my services.
Allowing them to only make quotes. For Customers. And restrict Discounts they can or can't apply. Requiring authorization for certain discounts.
Allowing us to have them sell and get Commision from their sell.
Would be awesome if we had ability to Setup their account to Auto supply Report for Commision to them. or Something to allow payment of commissions to a reseller. -
