When Creating Customers (and Cards) in Stripe, Add Address/Zip Information to Reduce Fraud Risk

6 votes

When Stripe collects a credit card payment, it does a Street Name check, and a Zip Code Check. Having this information in the customer profile is crucial to mitigate fraud risk, and keep Stripe happy when it comes to looking at your account. Over time, an account with no zip code or street matches will most likely be flagged for fraud and possibly even closed. Much of this is automated.

Since we're entering in the client information already in Viibe, let's have that flow through to the customer information in Stripe. When adding a card to a wallet, we also need the option to provide billing information for that card separately. It's important to differentiate this because business owners often use personal cards with different billing addresses to pay for business services. So the client's business address may not match the card address. Stripe supports a customer address as well as card addresses.
